Hi! My name is Edward Grigassy and it is nice to meet you!

I am a musician, bandleader and guitar educator based in Houston, Texas.

Because of the inspirational classical guitar virtuosos Adam Holzman (University of Texas, Austin, B.A. 1996.) and Eliot Fisk (Masters, New England Conservatory, 1998), I have devoted my time and effort to continue the tradition of service to the community through guitar music and guitar education.

I love to perform many styles of guitar music including classical and Spanish guitar, Bolero, Pasillo, Bambuco, Joropo, Vals, Argentine Tango, Choro, Bossa Nova, and Samba.

I like improvising and swinging when I can. I am so fortunate to also have studied with with Gene Bertoncini, master of jazz and Bossa Nova on the classical guitar.

My full-time occupation is as instructor for the guitar program at Bellaire High School, where our students participate in regular recitals, festivals, competitions and community service events.

When performing, I perform as a soloist and in a variety of collaborations.

A favorite collaborator of mine is Mr. Rodrigo Gamboa, my partner in the Carnaval Guitar Duo.

I also work with larger ensembles like the Old School Swing Band and Latin Carnaval, each group specializing in upbeat dance music of the western hemisphere.
